  Note: Nancy and William T. were living in the
        household of Sanders Kirkland, the elder Nancy's
        brother. The whereabouts of William S. has
        been largely unknown but according to the 
        1850 Shelby county Texas census, he is in his
        parent's household and his age is 26. I found him
        on the Panola County census of 1860 in his own
        household with a wife Catherine E. Upton Scott 
        and two children, a 4 year old and a 6 month old.
        It has now been discovered by Kim Foster (in a 
        lodge document) that William died in 1869. She 
        also discovered that he and Catherine had other
        children and that both William and Catherine
        were deceased at the time of the Shelby County 
        census of 1870 and their children were living 
        with Catherine's twice widowed mother, Nancy A.
        Upton Stephens. In the 1880 census, both she and
        one of William S. and Catherine's daughters, Elizabeth
        Scott were living with Nancy's son-in-law, Dr.
        William Spivey. More details on William S., William T.,
