William S. Scott was born in Henry Co., Al, 21 July 1823. This was his 2nd wife, Catherine E. Upton.
They married in Panola Co., TX, ca 1856. William S. apparently migrated to Shelby/Panola County,
Tx in 1846 with his parents, John and Nancy Scott. He was listed in the 1850 census as a member of
his parent's household.
In the 1860 census, he was listed with Catherine E. and two young children, one of which was age 4.

William S. Scott and wife Catherine Elizabeth Upton had the five children listed in the following table.
They married 24 April 1853 in Panola County,Tx.

Note: Kimberly Foster, while searching Panola County Texas lodge records,
discovered that William S. Scott died in 1869 and also that he, along with
his brothers-in-law, W.E. Whiddon, and David Sholar, were also officers of
that same lodge.
